Cancer
My first big loss in live was my grandfather Piet Peetoom. For years he was a bicycle repairman and made me my first bike himself. Grandpa Peetoom died after a long battle against stomach and lung cancer in 1978.
Over the years there are many dear beloved people in my area who have passed away from cancer and there are still people who suffer ...... Click on the picture to donate

Because my grandfather died almost a year before I saw Terry Fox in 1980, Terry made an even bigger example of courage, perseverance and hope. Hope that is so necessary for those with this disease.
If it wasn't for Terry and my grandfather who built my first bike, I would never have planned to take this trip.
Cancer
Ma première grosse perte en live a été mon grand-père Piet Peetoom. Ans, il était un réparateur vélo et m'a fait mon premier vélo lui-même. Peetoom grand-père est décédé après une longue bataille contre le cancer de l'estomac et du poumon en 1978.
Au fil des ans, il y a nombreux cher peuple bien-aimé dans ma région qui est décédés de cancer et il y a encore des personnes qui souffrent...Parce que mon grand-père est mort près d'un an avant d'avoir vu Terry Fox en 1980, Terry fait un encore plus grand exemple de courage, de persévérance et d'espoir. Espoir qui est si nécessaire pour les personnes atteintes de cette maladie.
Si ce n'était pas pour Terry et mon grand-père qui a construit mon premier vélo, je ne serait jamais avoir planifié de faire ce voyage.
